A Seattle-based design engineer Michael Princip came up with a new helmet concept that promises to reduce if not eliminate injuries caused due to concussions in the game of football. The new concept is being called Bulwark and boasts of modern engineering concepts that prevent concussions and neck injuries.

The Bulwark is different than traditional helmets in that its made of shock-absorbing sections that remain localized. It is made of three shell layers that also dissipate a blow as its moved inward. The helmet weighs just a pound lighter than most ones on the market which makes it lighter yet being strong and robust.

The Bulwark is not for sale yet. Michael Princip wants to sell the design to a manufacturer after testing and certification is done.
