Android may be the most widely adopted mobile platform, but iOS is where the real money is at.
According to CNet, Samsung and Apple together accounted for 95% of mobile phone profits earned during the fourth quarter of last year, with the iPhone manufacturer taking a massive 80% of the entire pie. During the previous quarter, Apple and Samsung took hold of 56% and 26% of profits, respectively.
As far as the rest of the competition is concerned, HTC, Research in Motion (BlackBerry), and Nokia each grabbed 3% or less.
The California-based company managed to sell over 37 million iPhones during the same quarter and over 6 million free iOS apps were downloaded every day in December.
