Cisco today launched a new range of Flip video cameras. These new cameras were introduced in two models, the UltraHD and MinoHD. Their pricing ranges from $149.99 to $229.99 and these cameras indicate that Cisco is looking to enter the consumer media and entertainment market. Cisco has been traditionally a networking company with its hardware running the core routers of the Internet. However with the burst of the consumer devices, it seems this is a right move for Cisco.
The flip cameras have enhanced HD video quality and include hardware based image stabilisation along with its enhanced FlipShare software which enables users to share videos online easily. Cisco released a statement in which they said that the Flip Video cameras are the best they have ever created. This new line of cameras are not only simple to use but also are affordable and with hardware based image stabilisation make it worthwhile to have a look.
The cameras can record HD video upto 720p and upto 60 frames per second on the HD cameras. They are available in 4GB memory capacity and 8 GB memory capacity models giving us a total of 1 hour and 2 hours recording time respectively. They are available in black, while and personalized colors.
