Today at the national biking summit, Google unveiled its newest addition to the maps – Biking Directions. Simply enter a start point and destination and select “Bicycling” from the drop-down menu. You will receive a route that is optimized for cycling, taking advantage of bike trails, bike lanes, and bike-friendly streets and avoiding hilly terrain whenever possible.

I think this is great but then do I think I wouldn’t be comfortable carrying a piece of print out of the map with me or having to memorize the route. May be Google will come out with a GPS device powered by a dynamo attached the bike, so if you stop peddling, you will never get home!
