Verizon and Samsung announced today that Samsungs new Android-powered Galaxy Tab will be sold by Verizon on Verizon’s network from November 11. This makes Verizon the first carrier to get the new Galaxy Tab which is being hailed as a true iPad killer. Samsung will bring out the tab to four other major carriers.
The Galaxy Tab has some power packed under its hood and is run by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor and runs Android 2.2. It has a 7” wide touchscreen and has both front and rear facing cameras! It also has its own app store for text, image and video messaging. Verizon will also load a ton of custom apps on the device including V Cast Music and VZ Navigator, Slacker Radio and many more.
TheĀ Samsung Galaxy Tab will available without a contract forĀ $599.99. 3G plans start at $20 per month for 1 GB. More information is yet to be made public.
