Facebook is playing an important role during election campaigns and looks like Obama’s re-election Facebook is doing it to a greater extent. In the wake of the next presidential election, President Obama has decided to kick start his re-election campaign which has its own Facebook page.

Actually the Facebook page indirectly points out who of your friends is a republican. When you visit the official presidential website, you will be encouraged to click straight through the Facebook page. Once there, you can highlight the Facebook friends who haven’t joined the 2012 Obama campaign, which indirectly means that they support the republican party.

Obama’s personal page has about 19 million likes while the re-election page has only 25,000 members so far. This is in contrast to Sarah Palin’s page which has about three million friends. It is unclear if Obama’s campaign might use these numbers to see his chances of being re-elected as the president again.
