Is a worthy iPad competitor here? OpenTablet 7, made by OpenPeak, will be sold by U.S. operator AT & T. Equipped
with a 7-inch touch screen and the ability to be placed on a flat surface the, the opentablet comes with the Intel Atom processor which uses the Intel Moorestown platform packing up a 1.9GHz performance. Thats not it, it comes with two cameras about 5 megapixel each and a 1080p screen, HDMI and USB, as well as a slot for memory cards format microSD.
Open peak claims to have thousands of apps already in store for the tablet and is said to be offering them through
AT&T althought the price for the device and the plans have not been disclosed. It is set to be available in late 2010. Equipped with wireless which supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth and 3G. The “multifunction device” as AT&T calls it is aimed at luring the users by making social networks, messaging and e-mail and downloading content from the Internet easily portable and accessible.
The company claims to have plenty of apps which can be downloaded from here. Some of the coolest apps that OpenPeak provides is the “Home Energy Management Solution” which gives you real time information on how much energy you are consuming and the cost. The app is designed to be deployed by the public utilites to its customers.
While iPad takes the market with its innovative looks, its design and the ease of use its “Big iPhone look” was not welcomed, but we would let the consumers decide on that. More information at their site here.
