TechCrunch today reported some interesting facts about PayPal which it released to public. PayPal says that it saw $3,650 in Total Payment Volume every second in Q2 2011 which means PayPal is processing around $315.3 million in payments per day. The payment platform is seeing about 5 million transactions a day which is huge!

eBay has been extremely happy with its PayPal acquisition which continues to be a huge money maker for the firm. PayPal, last quarter had its first ever billion dollar revenue crossed. Total net total payment volume (TPV) grew 34% compared to the same period of last year. PayPal is also growing to be a leader in the mobile market as well. It saw about $10 million in mobile transactions per day and expects it to cross Another area where PayPal is growing fast is mobile. The company said earlier this year that is seeing $10 million in mobile transactions per day, and expects more than $3 billion in mobile transactions this year itself!

PayPal wants to also tackle in-store payments as well and will be debuting several retail partnerships for this technology this year.PayPal currently represents about 18 percent of the global e-commerce which is huge considering the fact that it is being run like a internet based bank!
