sony-flexible-electronic-paper-displayThis year’s special Sony Dealer Convention had some interesting products displayed. Sony showed off its latest products and also gave us a glimpse of what was coming. The event was held in Shinagawa, Tokyo. While major focus remained on different 3D products there was one product that caught our eye. It was the flexible electronic paper display technology.

The never before seen prototype of flexible electronic paper display technology is really interesting and might be that perfect replacement for paper? This is an upgraded version of the glass substrate based E-paper. The new E-paper uses plastic substrate to give it a flexible structure which can be bent. It is also much lighter than the glass substrate. You can even roll it up like a paper without damaging it.

There is no word on when this technology will be implemented to its readers. Ideas remain end less but it will be interesting to see its practical applications.
