Amazon today launched a new Kindle reader called Kindle Singles. The new Kindle reader is for bits of literature which are not full blown novels nor magazine articles. Kindle Singles will be for those books that are about 30-90 pages in length. These are those books that have anywhere from 10,000 to 30,000 words in them.
Amazon said, “Kindle Singles will have their own section in the Kindle Store and be priced much less than a typical book. Today’s announcement is a call to serious writers, thinkers, scientists, business leaders, historians, politicians and publishers to join Amazon in making such works available to readers around the world”.
Books bought on Kindle Singles can be read on Kindle, Kindle 3G, Kindle DX, iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, Mac, PC, BlackBerry and on other Android-based devices. This will let consumers buy books while moving in between devices to read them. Kindle store also started offering the ability to write you own novel and to get it published on the store.
