It is being widely reported that Apple is to hold a media even on Wednesday, March 2 in San Francisco where it will unveil its much rumored and much anticipated iPad 2.
All Things D revealed today that Apple had invited them for the March 2 press meet. No venue has been named yet but it is expected to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts where other Apple events also took place.
iPad first generation is on its way to mark 15 million units within one year of sales which is remarkable. Apple’s iPad 2 is expected to raise the bar with almost double the sales of the iPad first generation.
iPad 2 is said to thinner with faster processor, more RAM and a camera for FaceTime video. It also has more advanced graphics capabilities to allow playback of high-definition video and superior 3D graphics.
Earlier Tuesday, AppleInsider exclusively reported that Apple has scheduled a “all hands” meeting for its retail employees in the coming days. Employees were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and those who do not sign cannot partake in the meetings, expected to be held at individual stores on Sunday.
This is in contrast to earlier rumors of delay in iPad 2’s release dates. Infact there is speculation that the iPad first generation prices will be dropped to less then $200 once iPad 2 is out.
