ciscoCisco today said that mobile data sent across over the internet was 2.6 times what it was in 2009. With the increase of mobile devices and its consumers the internet is as busy as it can get. Infact its getting bussier.

Cisco says by 2015, consumers will send 26 times more mobile data than they do now. Thats 6.3 exabytes per month said Suraj Shetty who is the vice president at Cisco. Cisco says two-thirds of that data traffic will come from mobile video.

Cisco said growth in mobile networks comes with an increase in wireless speeds which is at a global average of about 200 kilobits per second. This average speed is set to increase by 10, to about 2.2 megabits per second.

Cisco complies this data from multiple market research firms and also polling its own infrastructure.
