After much wait, Microsoft has finally made it official that the Kinect hardware will retail for $150. Its release date is set to November 4th and will include a copy of Kinect Adventures. Microsoft also revealed that the new version of Xbox 360 will hit the stores on August 3rd for $200.
We had speculated on this earlier and we were right! The new Xbox 360 will feature a 4GB flash storage with an ability to store and save games on USB sticks. Its $200 price point makes it very attractive for the market. It also sports WiFi!
Microsoft is also pushing forward by bundling the packages for the holiday season. Later this year a bundle consisting of the new 4GB 260 hardware + the Kinect hardware + a copy of Kinect Adventures will be available for just $300! Now thats a steal! You can also preorder any of these bundles today! Also remember when you pre-order you’ll receive “a token to download three exclusive game levels for Kinect Adventures, the game included with Kinect,” at launch.
Some games were also priced. Kinectimals, Kinect Sports and Kinect Joy Ride will retail for $49.99 when they’re launched alongside the hardware.
For folks who already own a Xbox 360 it may be harder for them to buy the $150 Kinect kit. They are better off buying the entire bundle during the holiday season.
