Google is reportedly working on a way to add ads in eBooks to slash the cost of the eBooks. Google is exploring the possibility of putting in ads in the eBooks which can pick up on the theme or mood of the page and display relevant ads to users.
Having ads will involve Google to gather data on readers to provide targeted advertising. Google claims that if the ebook is self financing in cost then its prices can be lowered which will increase the number sales of the ebook due to lower price points. Google says some books will even be free.
Google has declined to give any statement.
