Now this is cool. Motorola released its official commercial for the Motorola Xoom 2 tablets. These tablets claim to be faster, thinner and lighter than the original Xoom and are said to be a major improvement than its predecessor. There are two versions of the Xoom 2 tablets which are a  regular sized Xoom tablet and a 8.9″ tablet called the Xoom 2 Media Edition. Both the tablets have a powerful 1.2GHz dual core processor and run Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

The tablets are said to built for the sole purpose of multitasking. The battery life is said to last over 10 hours and the display is protected with Corning Gorilla glass which is long lasting and scratch proof. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity. The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition also has a IR blaster which allows the tablet to be used as a remote control for your TV, music systems or almost any other compatible IR-supporting devices.

The tablet has two cameras, a 5 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front to enable video calling. The cameras support digital zoom and auto-focus as expected. There is also LED flash on the back as well. Other features include 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard memory, support for data encryption, VPN, Active Sync for e-mail syncing, USB and ethernet ports.

The Xoom 2 Media Edition has a 178-degree 8.9-inch display while the Xoom 2 has a 10.1-inch display. The Media Edition also has Virtual Surround Sound which is nice.
