Today’s shopping news update! It is being reported that Nuance is set to buy Swype for more than $100 million. Swype a fairly new firm created an innovative gesture typing app for Android. Android users are able to enter text by swiping a finger across an on-screen keyboard. Now that Nuance has its own FlexT9 Android app that provides multi-modal text input using speech, keyboard gestures, finger writing and predictive typing, buying out Swype seems to be just what they need.

Although Nuance is having that technology, it seems that it is acquiring Swype to avoid any potential lawsuits that it might face by introducing new technology which might clash with Swype. The app  however is not available from the Android Market or the Amazon Android AppStore. Nuance’s FlexT9 is a $4.99 app in the Android Market.
