china-usa-cyber-warfareA top Pentagon Cyber Command General today said that there was a long way to go before the United States could defend itself against a serious cyber attack. General Keith Alexander said that the US military networks were weak when compared to its rivals such as China and Russia and said that in an event of a full scale cyber attack, the US networks will undoubtedly fail.

The General said that things were improving but not at a pace at which the military is used to. The General was recently asked by the House Armed Services Committe to grade the US military networks for which he gave it a “C”. The General said that one of the major problems that the US has is that it needs more people and resources to defend the country from concentrated cyber attacks. The General said that the US government systems are attacked about  a million times a day.
