Today a new rumor surfaced at DigiTimes that said that Asus was looking to introduce new cheaper netbooks in an effort to regain some of the lost market. Asus is said to introduce these cheap notebooks that are rumored to cost about $250 with Chrome OS or Android 3.0 OS. Asus is said to be claiming that the notebooks are either 10 or 11 inches.

Asus has already shown their Android based netbook card which debuted at CES earlier this year. The notebook card was called Eee Pad Transformer and Eee Pad Slider. Speculation is that Asus will be powered by Intel’s Atom series of processor and while Chrome OS may be a better fit for a notebook experience, Android might be the winner considering its easily marketable name plus more functionality.

Stay tuned for more updates.
