There is a fresh rumor making rounds that Apple’s next generation iPhone will not only be cheaper but also bigger. DigiTimes reported today that some sources had indicated that the iPhone 5 will have a 4-inch screen as opposed to the iPhone 4 that has a 3.5 inch screen.

Speculation is that Apple thinks that a 4-inch screen will put it more on-the-side with a number of Android devices that have a 4-inch display. A number of new devices released at the Mobile World Congress 2011 have screens measuring more than 4 inches so it makes sense why Apple wants to match that.

With a bigger screen size smartphones are able to do more and increase end user efficiency. Stay tuned to read more about this as we know it.
