galaxy-tab-samsungWe had reported earlier about Samsung shipping in one million Galaxy smartphone devicesinto the US. Today Samsung said that it was confident that over 10 million Samsung Galaxy Tab devices will be sold by September next year. The tablet was officially unveiled at IFA last week. Samsung aims at getting into the tablet market and the company says that it intends to take over at least one third of the tablet market before the end of next year.

Although the tablet was unveiled last week, pricing has not been determined yet. Several retailers in Europe have given their own price tags which put the Galaxy tab around $1000 price range. To compete head on with the iPad, the Galaxy Tab is expected to retail for about $200 to $400 in the US.

The Galaxy Tab has a 7 inch Super TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and runs the latest Android 2.2. It also comes with 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 including 3G. The Galaxy Tab has two cameras – a 3 mega pixel rear camera and a 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera.

Could the Galaxy Tab reach its anticipated numbers? We will find out, won’t we?
