Google-VoiceGoogle today released a version of the Google Voice for the iPhone! The app will allow you to make international phone calls at really cheap rates and even send free text messages to US numbers. It also allows you to use voicemail transcription and Google Voice ID display. Google’s engineer Christian Brunschen made the announcement in a blog post yesterday.

The app will also give push notifications and will alert users when they get a text message or voicemails. All calls are connected via Direct access Numbers which would let you connect to a number with little or no delay. Google’s voice app was earlier blocked by Apple however this release says that Apple might have softened its stand over its policies after an investigation by the US Federal Communications Commission.

The full flavoured native app was approved by Apple last week and can be downloaded from the Apple’s app store. The app can only be loaded on an iPhone with an iOS 3.1 or later and also with a valid Google voice account. Google Voice for the Iphone is now available to download from Apple’s App Store. For now Google Voice is available only in the US.
