Today iSuppli reported that it has opened up the Verizon iPhone 4 to find that it was loaded with the Qualcomm MDM6600 baseband processor which meant that the phone could support both GSM and CDMA.
iSuppli also said that the iPhone 4 hides a new antenna design which was necessary for the phone’s CDMA technology. iSuppli said that this new design gave the phone an edge over the AT&T iPhone 4. iSuppli also said that the iPhone 4 was using MDM6000’s integrated GPS.
iSuppli’s results were confirmed by 9to5Mac.com. Even though the phone can support both CDMA and GSM, Apple is not wanting to do so.
