Windows-phone-7Who is to blame? Yesterday Yahoo issue a statement which stated that its Yahoo Mail service was at fault for the “phantom data” glitch that led many of the Windows Phone 7 users use up their monthly data allotments. Yahoo said that an inefficiency in the synchronization of email between the phone and the yahoo mail was to blame for over consumption of bandwidth.

The glitch was first identified by programmer and blogger Rafael Rivera. But now, Yahoo issued another statement blaming Microsoft for the issue. Yahoo said the issue was specific to only Windows phones while yahoo mail worked perfectly on other devices including Android and iOS.

Yahoo asked MIcrosoft in their statement to follow a standard way of integrating with Yahoo’s mail client.
